Ezra is Mordecai's father and the grandfather of Jonathan and Miriam.

Ezra and his wife died sometime before the siege of Jerusalem in AD 70.

In The Slave-girl from Jerusalem, his granddaughter Miriam dies giving birth to twins, Popo and Soso, meaning that, if he were still living, he would have become a great grandfather.

  • Ezra is a male given name of Hebrew origin, meaning 'help' or 'helper'.
