Zetes is Flaccus' former slave-boy.
Zetes is first introduced in The Colossus of Rhodes as Flaccus' loyal and helpful slave-boy. However, later on Zosimus, who had been sending Magnus the kidnapper information, tells Flaccus that Zetes was one of the children he and Magnus had enslaved "eight or nine years ago", and that Zetes is actually highborn. Flaccus is horrified that he had been keeping a freeborn boy enslaved and sets Zetes free.
Zetes is said to be between 14-15 years of age. He is beautiful, with tanned skin, golden hair and dark, slanted eyes.
- Zetes is a male given name of Greek origin and means 'son of Boreas'.
